Building regulations Part P - Electrical installation

Electrics

We offer training and assessment to meet the requirements of Part P of the Building Regulations.

The four-day training course is designed for electricians and for those undertaking electrical work to complement their trade. The course has been tailored for those with varying electrical experience to offer the underpinning knowledge necessary to undertake the competency assessment. It will not enable an individual to become an electrician but to operate safely with regard to electrical installation. Course books are included within the course price and are available at time of booking.

Successful completion of the 1-day assessment will allow for the individual to apply for registration to either NICEIC or Gas Safe. The choice of registration body is crucial, as an incorrect decision can limit the scope of work that can be self certified. Advice will be given at the time of booking.

17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations

These regulations are now in force and anyone undertaking electrical work is required to gain a qualification demonstrating knowledge of the current wiring regulations.

A one-day update course is available if the candidate has taken a 16th edition course since 1st June 2001 or recently gained a recognised trade qualification. Any other applicant would be required to do the full four-day course.

A NICEIC guide is included in the course price (RRP £25).

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT testing)

Portable Appliance Testing

Portable electrical equipment used by organisations and businesses must be checked at regular intervals. This course is a mix of both practical and theory and will give the applicant the necessary skills and expertise to undertake these tests.

Two City & Guilds Awards are offered: one to enable the person to carry out the test and the second to manage the process. Each course lasts one day, or one and a half days if both are taken together.

Existing PAT Testing operatives are encouraged to undertake this assessment as this will allow entry to the NICEIC register, giving your work a recognised quality standard – something many customers now demand.

Equipment: We can source a variety of test equipment at discounted prices, including PAT testers and Easitest, which has been specially designed with the defined scope operative in mind and, as the name suggests, is incredibly easy to use.

2391-10 Inspection & Testing

This four day course offers Training & Assessment. The course covers domestic, commercial and industrial inspection and testing of existing electrical systems.
